Improving weather and the Drift scheduled to spin!
Anything could happen this morning. Right now, there's an alpenglow out to the east with cloud moving in from the west and the forecast is calling for a cloudy day with the chance of a snow shower.
At 6am it's -2 degrees which was also the overnight low as we head for a top of +2 degrees. The wind has swung around and is currently moderate from the WSW.
With yesterday's warming followed by a cooling the 4cm of fresh snow that fell yesterday has definitely firmed up overnight. The groomers will be the go first up this morning and it feels like there's enough texture to get your edges in. Off piste will likely be very challenging with some areas having formed a crust so be sure to feel it out and perhaps wait for any softening to occur.
In other news, pending weather and final checks the Drift T-Bar is scheduled to spin at some stage today. Keep an eye on the App and the lift report for all the latest updates.

Backcountry Conditions

13 cm in 24 hours, however that all fell during the day yesterday. The sight warming late in the day, followed by cooling in the last few hours has left a very thin crust on the surface. It will probably be skiing and riding ok in some areas but may be challenging in others. Take care out there.

There was a very light dusting of fresh during yesterday and the surface is feeling nice this morning. Conditions are still variable and can be tricky. Ski with care especially on downhill sections. Watch out for the Australian Defence Force teams racing this morning using the Poo Farm trail..

The only place on Mt Hotham for tobogganing is at the HOTHAM HUB toboggan slope ( Wire Plain ) Bus stop 11.
The Hotham Hub has toilets, toboggan hire, hot food and drinks to make your experience all that more enjoyable.
The Peashooter toboggan slope at DP is also open.
Best XC Skiing
Village to Skiers xing will be very good for that last training session for the Hoppet next Saturday at Falls Creek however do watch out for the ADF who will be racing using the Poo farm trail today..

Cover thin, , Take care especially on downhill sections. There is walking involved.
