Toboggan and Snowplay Waiver & Safety Rules
By purchasing a ticket for tobogganing and snowplay at Hotham Hub, you acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions outlined in the Hotham Hub Waiver on behalf of yourself and all individuals for whom you are purchasing tickets. You also agree to comply with the Toboggan Responsibility Code and all rules and safety requirements set out below.
HOTHAM HUB WAIVER
1. Acknowledgment of Risks: I acknowledge that tobogganing and snow play activities at Mt Hotham Alpine Resort involve inherent risks, including but not limited to: Slips, trips, and falls on snow and ice, collisions with fixed objects, other participants, or equipment, variable weather conditions including cold temperatures, wind, and reduced visibility, equipment malfunction or misuse, uneven terrain, hidden obstacles, and changing snow conditions. I understand that these risks may result in injury, illness (including hypothermia), property damage, or in rare cases, serious injury or death.
Assumption of Responsibility: I voluntarily participate in these activities and accept full responsibility for my own safety. I agree to: Follow all posted signs and staff instructions, use equipment as directed, supervise any children in my care at all times, wear appropriate clothing and footwear for alpine conditions.
Waiver and Release of Liability:To the fullest extent permitted by law, I agree to release, waive, and discharge: Hotham Hub, Mt Hotham Alpine Resort, their employees, contractors, and agents from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to my participation in tobogganing and snow play activities, including any claims arising from negligence.
Medical Treatment: I consent to receive first aid or emergency medical treatment if required. I acknowledge that I am responsible for any associated costs.
Personal Property: I understand that I am responsible for my personal belongings and that Hotham Hub and Mt Hotham Alpine Resort are not liable for loss or damage.
Photography & Media Consent: I consent to photos or videos of me being used for promotional purposes.
HOTHAM HUB RULES
- Only toboggan in designated areas.
- Only toboggan during daylight hours with good visibility
- Only approved plastic moulded toboggans are allowed. DO NOT use any other non-purpose built object.
- Sit on your toboggan with your feet out in front. DO NOT sit backwards, stand, or go down hill face-first.
- Children under 5 should toboggan with an adult. Children under 12 should be supervised by an adult at all times.
- Only one person on a toboggan at any time (except for adults with young children).
- Dress appropriately - hats, gloves or mittens, snow pants, winter jacket, snow boots. Bring a change of dry clothing.
- Avoid wearing scarves or clothing that may get caught.
- A helmet designed for winter sports is recommended, a biking or skate boarding helmet could be used as a substitute.
- Walk up the side of the slope and leave the middle open for other users.
- Use your feet to control your speed and to slow down.
